Stone guide · Amazonite
The color of shallow Aegean water. Amazonite is a pale green-blue feldspar with a soft, milky glow that suits summer skin and simple silver.
What it is
Amazonite is a green variety of microcline feldspar. The color comes from small traces of lead and water in the crystal. Beads usually show a soft green-blue base with lighter streaks, and the finish is slightly milky rather than glassy. With a hardness of 6 to 6.5, it is stronger than turquoise and holds up well in a bracelet.
